At OBX Housing over 60% of our Outer Banks Long Term Renters and Tenants pay online and on time. We achieve this high percentage by permitting our Residents to pay through our website at their Tenant Portal that they can access 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. This is very convenient for those that work opposite hours to our office hours. It is also much more convenient than having to battle the traffic to get to our office during the crazy summer traffic that we experience here on the Outer Banks.
Another incentive we offer to our Residents is to be eligible for our monthly rent raffle you must pay your rent online and on time. In the past 12+ months that we have been doing this, we have seen in increase in participation. Some of the gifts we have given out have been Gas cards, gift certificates to local restaurants such as John’s Drive In, gift cards to Belks, Subway, Lowes and Home Depot. Over the holidays one of our Tenants donated a holiday wreath that was won by a Resident in November so she would have it for her front door during the holidays.
We also offer online payments for Owners and Vendors so that their rental proceeds or payment for service are deposited quickly and efficiently and save a trip to the post office and/or bank. The details of the deposit are always followed up by an email with the check details for accounting purposes.
